Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

1. About These Terms

These Terms govern your use of kulsa.co.uk and your registration for KULSA events. By creating an account or registering for an event, you agree to them in full. They are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

KULSA (Korean UK Life Science Association) is a non-profit community for Korean researchers, scholars, students, and professionals working in the life sciences across the UK.

2. Your Account

  • KULSA is members-only. Registration and event access are restricted to approved members.
  • You must give accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for the security of your account credentials.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

Email verification. If you register with a password, we email you a code that you must enter before you can sign in. Codes expire and can be reissued at any time. Google sign-in does not need this step, as Google has already confirmed your address.

Sessions. Signing in lasts 30 days and is not extended by continued use, so you will be asked to sign in again at least that often.

Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Personal details → Delete my account. You will be asked to confirm your identity, and it takes effect immediately. Deletion is permanent, cannot be undone, and signs you out everywhere — to rejoin you would need to register again. Records of your past orders and payments are kept for 6 years as UK law requires, without your personal details attached. Deleting your account does not cancel or refund an order (see sections 5 and 6).

3. Event Registration

Free events. Your place is confirmed straight away and we email you a confirmation.

Events needing approval. Some events require approval before your place is confirmed. Registering is an application, not a guaranteed booking, and your order shows as ‘Awaiting Verification’. If approved, we confirm by email. If declined, your ticket allocation is released and we let you know. We cannot guarantee approval and are not liable for costs you incur in anticipation of it.

Paid events. You complete payment on Stripe’s secure page. Your registration is confirmed only once payment succeeds. We never store your card details.

One registration per event. You may hold only one active order per event.

4. Ticket Availability

Tickets are subject to capacity and we cannot guarantee availability at the moment you check out. If a ticket type sells out before your order is confirmed, we will tell you and you will not be charged.

5. Cancellations

By you. You can cancel an order yourself while it is ‘Pending Payment’ or ‘Awaiting Verification’, using the Cancel Order button on your order page. Confirmed orders cannot be self-cancelled — contact us at ask.kulsa@gmail.com if you have exceptional circumstances.

By KULSA. We may cancel a registration if the event is cancelled or postponed, if you are found ineligible, or if these Terms are breached. If we cancel a paid registration, we refund it in full to your original payment method.

Unfinished payments. Payment sessions expire after 30 minutes. If yours expires before you pay, the order is cancelled automatically and the tickets released. You can register again if any remain.

6. Refunds

  • Free tickets: no monetary refund applies.
  • Paid tickets: refunds are at our discretion, except where the law requires one — for example if we cancel the event, when a full refund is automatic.
  • Approved refunds go back to your original payment method via Stripe, typically within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.

7. Pricing

All prices are in GBP and include any applicable charges. There are no hidden fees and no payment-method surcharges. Prices are set per event and per ticket type, and may change for future events. In line with the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, we will never display misleading prices or hide mandatory charges.

8. Tickets Are Non-Transferable

Tickets and registrations are personal to the member who registered. You may not resell, transfer, or assign them. We may cancel any ticket found to have been resold or transferred, without refund.

9. Event Conduct

By attending a KULSA event you agree to behave respectfully towards other members, staff, and venue personnel. We may remove anyone whose conduct is inappropriate or disruptive, without refund.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on kulsa.co.uk, including text, images, and the KULSA logo, belongs to KULSA and may not be reproduced without written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

KULSA is a non-profit community organisation. To the extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses arising from use of the platform or attendance at events.
  • Our total liability in connection with any event will not exceed the price paid for the relevant ticket.
  • Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. We will tell you about material changes by email or a notice on the website, and continued use afterwards means you accept them.
